Services to the students

SERVICE OF OPERATION IN THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:

• Management of the Service of Consultations and Anomalies (incidents)
• Technical support to the pupils of the EPSEM
• Maintenance of the classrooms of computer science 
  

USER'S ACCOUNT

All the pupils of the EPSEM have a user's own account. This one identifies with a user's name and a password. The user's name corresponds to the ID of the pupil, changing the first number into a letter as correspond: 0 for a, 1 for b, 2 for c, 3 for d, 4 for and, 5 for f, 6 for g, 7 for h, 8 for i, 9 for j.

The password that is assigned to the new students corresponds to the cipher of the date of birth (ddmmaa), plus the last two numbers of the ID card.

If there is any problem, you can go to the computer center to consult this information.

This user's account allows the following services:

ACCESS TO THE COMPUTER CLASSROOMS:

• Access to all the computer classrooms of the school and the library of the university campus of Manresa: BCUM

MAIL:

• An e-mail is provided to every pupil, in an automatic way, by the following form: nombreusuario@est.epsem.upc.edu

    As innovation of this year, the direction(address) of the e-mail of the pupils also can be: name.surname@est.epsem.upc.edu      So the pupil will be able to read the mail from the web page of the school in any of two directions.

• This mail is IMAP, the access is from the web page of the school www.epsem.upc.edu (STUDENTS -> MAIL) from any place of the world.

• If a reader of mail is wanted to form, the necessary information is the following ones:
  • name of the servant of entry (IMAP): lasequia.upc.es
  • user's name: username

INTRANET:

• From the web of the school it is possible to accede to an intranet where you can:
  • Consult the e-mail

• Consult your process from the e-mail, you have to go to OPTIONS -> Consult Process
• Change the password from the e-mail, you have to go to OPTIONS -> Change Password. 

        The password is unified for all the services of the EPSEM.


SPACE OF THE HARD DISC:

• Every student has 200 MB to guard all the personal works (space shared with the mailbox of the e-mail).

• You can see this space as another unit of the computer from any PC of the school (computer classrooms and laboratories)

• If anyone wants to accede from the laptop with connection to the intranet in the school, you would have to connect to the unit of network doing (My computer -> Menu Tools -> Connects to the unit of network). The pieces of information are:
  

• Unit: L:

• Folder: // lasequia/username
• When we press END it will ask us for the user's name and the password of the EPSEM's account. We will already have connected in our unit.

• If anyone wants to accede to the account from house, it is possible to do it across the service scp (winscp from windows)

• Servant: lasequia.upc.es
• type of safety: SSH2
• user's Name: username
• Password: the same one of other sevices

SAFETY COPIES:

• Daily, it is done a safety copy of the files and it is guarded a whole of 20 working days. If some file gets lost, the pupil would have to put in touch with the service of operation to manage the recovery. 

WIFI NETWORK:

• In the EPSEM, there is a wifi network that allows the connection to the intranet from any laptop with wireless card. 

• To accede to it, it is necessary to connect in the network "epsem" and open a browser. It will ask you for a user's name and a password, which they are the same that the account of the EPSEM. Once identified, we must keep opened the window of the browser who preserves the connection to the intranet (we must allow the emergent windows of http: // 192.168.3.1) and already to have permanent connection in the network.

SERVICE OF PRINTING:

• Works can be sent to the printers, in format dinA4 and dinA3, white and black, or in color.

• The company REMSA manages these printers.
