The city of Manresa is placed in the geographical center of Catalonia to an approximate height of 230m. on the level of the sea. Close to the river Cardener and very close to his confluence in the river Llobregat, it exercises the role of nucleus of a powerful urban and demographic area called "Pla de Bages", integrated by the municipalities of Manresa, Sant Joan de Vilatorrada, Sant Fruitós of Bages and Santpedor. His privileged situation, in the confluence of the Axis of the Llobregat (which communicates France with Barcelona and the Catalan coast across the Pyrenees) and the Transverse Axis (which joins the grounds of the West with Gerona and the North coast) does of Manresa an equidistant city from any point of Catalonia and, therefore, regarding forced of the Central Catalonia.
The climate of Manresa is Mediterranean with continental tendency, with warm and dry summers and cold and dry winters.
