Innovative management of processes and quality / INNOVA-PQ

Research contents and social projection :

The local branch of the Business Management Department in Manresa  is made up of two full -time professors and six part-time professors  who share their jobs with their  academic work. Full time professors hold a PhD while three others are studying for their doctoral degrees.

 

All they take part in teaching activities (technical engineering diplomas; industrial engineering degree; mining engineering degree, MBA and Doctorate levels), research and technology transfer (consultancy and training in private owned companies, together with ASFO and VIGES consulting firms).

 

Amongst their research fields of interest, the following might be highlighted:

 

• Membership of the research group INNOVA-PQ (Innovative management of processes and quality). This group studies reengineering processes, implementation of lean/Just-in-time productive and logistic systems and total quality management.

 

Although the creation of the group is recent, their researchers have submitted papers to several national and international conferences and have published their work in international journal (please refer to the InnovaPQ site). This research is connected to the work of the Lean Enterprise Institute in Spain.


• Empirical research in mines, quarries and the crushed stone industry related to company management, quality and safety and health at work.


• Information systems: planning and development.


• Strategic management in small and medium enterprises.
